Role Play Rules:
---Please wait for your biography to be accepted before beginning to role play---
1) How the role playing here works is you start a thread (the first thread you're going to make with a character is at the starting point, which is at the Professor's Lab), and I will reply to that thread to interact with your character. Here's an example:
Your Post: Q-Tip stepped up to the door of the lab, and sucked in a breath. Today was the day he got his first Pokemon! Excitedly, he lifted a fist and gently knocked on the white door.
My Post: Footsteps could be heard, and soon a tall, young man opened the door to see Q-Tip.
Here's another example:
Your Post: Q-Tip skipped along the dirty path, his new Pokemon following behind him happily.
My post: The breeze blew softly, rustling the grass and trees. It was a beautiful day.
If you just feel like role playing with other characters, there are specific boards for you to do so. That is a free-for-all thread and an opportunity for other members to interact with one another instead of strictly with me or other moderators.
Just another thing, this board is meant for literate people, generally intended for a teen audience. We're not advanced literate, so please don't post rediculous words that the average person isn't going to understand, but you should also be able to have a nice range of vocabulary and be able to carry on a understandable role play. Post in third person, past-tense.
2) Powerplaying in any form is not allowed. Most powerplaying is seen in fights, so make sure you don't go overboard. Godmoding is another form of powerplay, where your character is a big, bad tough guy who takes barely any damage during battle.
3) I'd really like it if you only had one trainer (no Pokemorphs!), but feel free to make up to three. If things get out of hand with crowdedness, I will ban any more biographies unless it's the first one from a new member.
4) Occaisonaly I will reward an active or good member with prizes, such as items or PokeDollars, but the main way to get money is by beating Gym Leaders and trainers, and posting in role plays. Please read the next rule below for an explanation on our PokeDollar system.
5) Trainers automatically start off with two Potions and five Pokeballs, as well as $100 PokeDollars. PokeDollars is the currency on this board, a reward system in which a member is rewarded $5 PokeDollars every time they make a post on a role play thread. This money can be spent on various things, such as items from the PokeMart, or maybe even to buy new Pokemon from a Pokemon Breeder. PokeDollars are also transferrable from member to member, such as two members battling in order to win a moneypool. This is greatly discouraged by me, but I won't ban moneypools yet unless people give me a reason to. Of course, if you have two different characters, this can get pretty tricky, keeping track of each character's money, so it's up to you how you want to spend the money on your account. You can just divide it up between your characters.
6) Whenever you catch/ gain a new Pokemon, modify your profile (go to the biography you made when you first joined and press the "modify" button) and add those new changes into your biography. Look at Professor Maple's Biography for an example. Please keep it neat, organized, easy to read, and always post the images instead of just the links to the images. If you are unsure as to how to do that, please ask me to show you how.
7) All fights between members involving PokeDollars will be watched over by an Administrator, and the winner will also be chosen by how well you RP and by the fairness of your posts. If you want to fight another member to earn money, PM me first for permission. PLEASE NOTE: I have yet to decide if I want to ban money pools, and I'm probably going to leave it up to the members to decide.
8) You cannot move on to the next Route/ Town until an Administrator gives the "okay".
9) Each time your Pokemon defeats another Pokemon, it will gain a level, and depending on what level it is, it will learn a new move or evolve. If the Pokemon you fought was lower leveled, your Pokemon will only gain 1 level. If the Pokemon you fought was the same level or higher, you will gain two levels. Administrators will monitor levels of Pokemon and make sure that their abilities are up-to-date. The guide that we will use can be found here: http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/pokedex.html
10) Unfortunately, because I do not posess Diamond or Pearl games, I am unfamiliar with the newest set of Pokemon and we will not be role playing them here on this site. This includes any and all new Pokemon moves and items.
11) Just another topic I remembered, cursing is allowed if it is not very often and it is PG-13. No "F bombs", and no derogatory words, please. Sexual content is strictly limited to jokes or innuendo. Romance is allowed, but if you go all the way with a relationship, take it to PM. Nothing graphic should be publicly posted on my forum and I greatly discourage anything above rated 'T'.
OOC Rules:
1) Please, don't fight. If someone is bothering you, PM me about it or try to settle things maturely between yourselves.
2) I will not tolerate spammers, flamers, or inactive members!
3) If you're posting OOC more than you're RPing, we've got a problem.
4) Cursing is not allowed, nor is any sexual, racial, prejudice, or any offensive material and such content.
5) Don't color your posts. All it does is annoy other people when they have to highlight all of your posts when using a different color-based skin.
